Ingredients

  • Gin
    60 ml / 2.03 US fl oz
  • Lime Juice
    22.5 ml / 0.76 US fl oz
  • Simple Syrup
    22.5 ml / 0.76 US fl oz

US fl oz amounts are rounded; use ml for exact measures.

Make it

  1. Chill the coupe ahead of time.
  2. Pour all ingredients into a shaker, fill with ice and shake hard for 10 to 12 seconds.
  3. Strain out the ice and pour the drink into the glass.
  4. Garnish with a lime slice.

Behind the drink

Said to have originated in the British Navy, where officers mixed their allotted lime juice with gin.
